I'm a people person, and most important to me is we require happy people to be succesfull. If you do not have a good relationship with your colleagues, suppliers and stakeholders you will not be able to deliver your KPI's or the strategy of the organisation you working for. Compliance is massive in each company and to ensure all is adhere to all the time. Most difficult as I have worked accross different commodities I find professional services the most challenging to add value in my stakeholders world.

Learning curve and aspiration

my company has exposed me to so many different kinds of people ie staff and customers aswell.I have learnt to relate to different kinds of people in all levels.I enjoy be able to take charge of a situation when faced with a difficult and disappointed customer.

Pros: great opportunities in terms of carrer
Cons: long working hours with no reimbursement of it and hardwork with no recognition

Great platform to start

Retail banking at standard bank is a great platform to start and you can always work urself up nd into head office etc.a typical work day is very hectic ,stressful day in always faces with queries that has turnaround time queries that I need to escalate Woking within a time frame.I love my colleges always friendly however there is always someone that won't like you, I'm not there to entertain anyone's stories I'm there to work ,there will always be 1/2 people that the manager will favour more......what I've learnt in the bank do your work mind your own business ........

There is a chance given to learn

It is a great place to work at the culture and the way people carry themselves around and always ready to assit is amazing.there is always room for growth and you learn everyday .I enjoyed every bit of my time at standard bank.

Great opportunities

Good Exposure

Heavily involved in mapping, implementing and improving processes in my department. Also act as project manager in some cases and ensure that projects are implemented timely.

My Attributes

I have good interpersonal relations,a hard, have the ability to multi task, remain calm and can work under a very pressurized environment .i am honest and have friendly nature . Good team spirit and respect. I am eager to learn on a new surrounding for growth, where my contribution will be worthwhile and acknowledged and determined to succeed .a team player attitude, good communicating, Good at making decisions, creative, organized and practical.

The company has groomed me into becoming an excellent sales person.

The most i have learnt at the bank is negotiation skills which is critical within the sales environment. I've learnt networking skills, selling skills and how to be a service champion. All co-workers have a general respect for one another which made working in the bank quite pleasant.

Working at Standard Bank

I have been working for Standard Bank for 4 years now. Every day is challenging and most definitely a learning curve. Standard Bank is a big organization and quite a fast pace working environment. I have learned to adapt to change quite quickly and deliver milestones at quite a fast and effective manner. Since I started working for Standard Bank ,I have gained a lot of experience and training. I have advanced from a Project Administrator, to a Subject Matter Expert in Contract Analysis and Compliance Management. I enjoy analysis as well as the legal and financial part of contracts. The biggest challenge is managing resources.

Pros: Great place to gain experience
Cons: Fast pace and ever changing environment
