My time at Sasol would always be remembered as a wonderful experience. I have learned a great deal of what it meant to support SAP on a daily basis as well as what the A&A team need to stay SOX compliant.
Pros: Flexible working hours

Experience in Cenical to Steel industry and form artisan to Management level
A typical work day would start by attending morning meetings to give feedback on the last 24 hour work that was performed by my department. I also use this opportunity to find out about production volumes that were attained and production targets for the rest of the week and the month. The rest of the is covered by attending to problems raised in the morning meetings and emergency work that need to be performed by my artisans for that day. This include planning meetings and improvement project meetings. I will also attend monthly safety meetings and budget meetings. In these meetings I would give feedback on the safety performance as well as budget spend for the month as well as forecast for the next period.

The time is now to surge to greather heights.
Sasol is a dynamic company where the only constant is change. Changes happen rapidly at Sasol and employees quickly get on the busy to keep the wheels turning. The company strives continuously for a high performance culture and excellence. Team members at the company have a lot of respect for each other. Everyone is constantly reminded of rules and policies so that these can be followed to achieve high end results. I enjoy optimising systems and processes so that people can achieve maximum productivity with minimum difficulty. I maintain inclusive environment for my team so that we maintain transparent communication thus instilling the value of trust. Challenges involve trying to get results from other internal stakeholders. There is a lot of room for improvement and this must be done by putting SLA's in place between other service departments. I have a very analytical nature and think out of the box for every situation before a decision is made.

Excellent learning

Excellent learning curve.
It is an environment that assists those who are willing to become level headed and expert in problem solving. This is due to the difficulties in the environment and various red tape. However the existing challenges allow one to learn creative ways of finding workable solutions for the benefit of project delivery. Within governance but also stretching the boundaries where possible and within reason. Daiiy challenges which can prune one into an excellent problem solver and negotiator.

I am currently having nqf level 4 in chemical operation and safety samtrec . I am reliable responsible able to make decision in every duty I make and I'm willing to learn new things in my career to improve. my daily job in the plant outside I take samples and analyse them , do plant inspection and house keeping, plant troubleshooting as per plant matrix, follow safety procedures, assisting team members on root course analysis, start up and shutdown of the plant safely. inside control room monitor process variables and do adjustment where necessary, start up and shutdown plant safely, reporting defects on the process to the shift leader.I am seeking a position that will enable me to attain as much experience and exposure in my current field of study and it will be my pleasure if my request could be taken into consideration.

I am glad to have worked for this wonderful company for more than 10 years.
I manage a team of more than 250 personnel across the Southern African region i.e SA, Namibia, Botswana and Zambia. I do a lot of travelling as most of my sites are situated in remote areas across South Africa. I have a strong team with strong interpersonal skills and have one common goal and that is to achieve as a team. We have a good understanding of each other and our expectations are well defined and accepted by all of us. I have learnt that without a team no one can achieve anything. What i enjoy most is the level of diversity within my department and the way they respect each other and their respective jobs. The most challenging aspect of my job is that it entails lots of travelling and sometimes i miss a lot in terms of my kids everyday development but a man has to work to provide a better future. My family understands as we have a common goal.

Cons: Having to wake up at 2am whenever there's an incident on the road.
