Great learning opportunity

Retail hours can be challenging but I believe it's the industry that provides the best way to learn about excellent customer service. The beauty department presents an excellent gateway to learning about cosmetics and make up products. Entails various admin responsibilities as stock needs to be acknowledged, scanned, priced and tracked. It is easy to work with other skilled beauty advisors within the same store as it takes the pressure off one advisor having to do the bulk of the makeovers for a day. The best part about the job is coming into contact with new customers everyday and understanding their personalities to best achieve what they expect from us. The most challenging and sometimes unpleasant part about the job is that your entire life is centred around the job.

Pros: Freedom of expression of creativity, trainings allow for skill improvement
Cons: Long working hours, including weekends Leaves very little personal time which becomes draining.

Hard work for not enough wage

I work as a sales rep make target and have excellent customer service and have so far made target and plan for the past 4 months of working for a new brand in rustenburg named Colette. Before then I worked as a fashion consultant and have so far learnt to try give my best and work hard to earn my may to the top. Challenges maybe difficult customers and handling an extra load of work but because of dedication I manage to always remain calm and think on my feet

Excellent learning curve

first thing in the morning is to replenish my stock on the counter ,book clients for an appointment.I have an excellent relationship with all my colleagues and there are sometimes tension between employees but its easy to solve them.i have learnt that working as team can bring out the best in me and i enjoy working as team as I also learn a lot from my team members.the most challenging aspects of my job is to find customers and get to close a sale with each of them.

A great place to start off

No growth or opportunities but you get to meet up with great people and experience the most difficult and easy customers but what works is the who you are and where you from but great staff that you get to have connection with but their hard work goes without being recognised and awarded other then that you learn new things each and every day from different types of people which can make and break you

Customer service and administration

we knock off late around 8pm and 9pm and I do not get time for family as I work all holidays and weekends. but out of all I learned working with people and I developed confidence and discipline at foschini

Pros: ehen working in a retail store you must have intergrity,honesty and customer service at all time because the first important thing is a customer who brings money to the store. Customer expect good service from as from greeting till bye bye so a sales assistant must wear a smile at all times. We must apologise even when when we know that we did no harm so if one need to be promoted in Foschini must respect stock and customer at all times
Cons: we work from 9am to 6pm and 12pm to 9pm during holidays 9am till 6pm

Customers services

A day after a month end, I get together all my Admin work especially filling and other paper work.Relationship with coworker is good thou not hundred percent. The only time when relationship is disturbed is when there are challenges of the month end.I have learnt patience perseverance and that honesty is the best policy.I enjoy customer care reaching the turnover and general store challenges. Challenges aspects are stock taking and weekly county

It was good experience

It was a good experience and if you willing to learn, the manager teaches staff, I was trained for costumer service and mechanising, cashier, administration, it was a good experience indeed

Customers services

Good skill and experience

I like to assist customers with something what they want in shop,,i also sweep the shop,I do the p o s,having love to any of my customer,ability to reach my target,my reward,respect my staff,respect my time
