Excellent learning industry

It is very good learning curve, you actually mover one position to another, the culture of the workplace is the best. My co-worker are very considerate, they care for each other.

I am a fast learner and adapt to change very fast

I work with consultants reports and I am responsible for loading and maintaining the branches four ATMs and resolving and paying clients ATMs claims and also resolve telephone queries. I enjoy doing admin work, because it makes it easy to interact with consultants when they see me in the front line they know I am looking for my outstanding work and I have a very good way of communicating with them. The challenges I have are mostly the ones from my ATM customers if I do a cash check and the balancing team takes time to send through the confirmations and I have to call angry customers to explain to them how the process and procedures of ATM refunds works.

Pros: Opportunities for growth are there.
Cons: Sunday trading is one of the cons that makes me look for another job.

Excellent in terms of growth and experience

Being a member of the First National Bank family was a great and exciting experience indeed.My interaction with internal and external customers was very interesting and helped me to realize how customer driven I was. Everyday as I stepped in the office my focus was to make a difference in someone's life and experience. Have a solution and answer to every concern of my customers and my co workers. Being positive at all times also enabled me to manage to resolve even difficult matters wthout escalating. I valued my relationship with my co workers even with different ethnic groups and culture and it was so important that I had most to learn and I enjoyed it. My challenge was when I had to change how I do things my way to business new way even though I had to adapt quicker and get used to it.

Pros: Even though I did not get an opportunity,I was ready to lead or manage my team
Cons: Working longer hours was unoccational except coming in on some Saturdays

I am a client service specialist, dealing with Ombudsman complaints.

I work for client experience dealing with ombudsman complaints concerning the credit card. Mself and my co-workers work well together. i have learnt that every job has it's challenges and each client is different to another. Most clients i deal with are already irate due to some error or misunderstanding between them and the bank so i need to ensure that both client and bank side has been resolved properly. What i enjoy most s the interaction with my clients, no two clients are the same. Also the experiencing one gains daily on investigating where the problem started broadens your knowlege of the banking industry on the whole. The most chalenging expect would be ensuring that the bank was not at fault and we did everything and didnt break any rules when giving the Ombudsman feedback on our finding( factual accuracy is of utmost importance)

Pros: always learning something new, client interaction
Cons: can be stressful at times as we do rely on third parties for informaton as well and a delay there could delay my output

Brilliant Atmosphere

Nothing is given, you will see the results if your work hard. Everything I know today is because of my colleagues. Yes, formal education is important but peer-to-peer learning got me where I am today. I'll forever be grateful to FNB Merchant Services. Typical days work - minute you walk in you feel the energy. There's laughter even when we under immense pressure or we made kak. I think my team made everything look easy cause we got along. We were professional about all we undertake & importantly made sure we had fun.

Work life balance and growth opportunity

Great stakeholders engagement, work life balance. Very past paced environment with alot of pressure. Very helpful people, however there are lot of office politics and favoritism. One work so hard but never appreciated and recognised adequately.

Learnt a lot about money

My last job was at first National Bank as a sales agent at the call center.i was a multi skilled agent and responded to clients who sent requests to be contacted for personal products, from opening an account to scoring for financial products eg:overdrafts, credit cards ect.we had a daily target to achieve of 9 sales which me and my team enjoyed the trill and pressure we would put on each other to reaching this target. Our team was made up of 13 people and we like family supporting each other and laughing with each other. Everyday was different but definitely fun. The most challenging espect of the job is having to decline someone after they've told you their story. Customers are different and having the ability to be able to communicate with all types of people has really helped me alot and one of my strengths because at the end of the day you never know who's on the other side of the line.

Service excellence

I enjoy working with my current team due to the collaboration amongst us. My daily activities include but not limited to providing support to the HRBP's, recruitment (from advertising the vacancy to background checks, to hire and induction), building relationships with my stakeholders by providing guidance and support with regards to policies, queries, performance management, etc. Compiling monthly reports and analyzing these to establish any trends. Assist business with the disciplinary process. During my tenure I have learnt that constant communication and interaction with stakeholders is very important in building sound business relationships and provides efficiency in providing a high level of performance. The best part of my current role is that I have been afforded the opportunity of being responsible for a small portfolio within which I have played an integral role in building that team.

People focused

working with people is challenging and enjoyable. I enjoy meeting different people and educating clients on better banking opportunities. I have learnt to work and communicate to all types of peiople.
