Exposure and work environment

Working for EMA has helped with a greatly comprehensive exposure of accounting function. I was given responsibility to handle a portfolio of clients. I was effectively working independently or in a group. I have had a very good relationship with all the staff. I am known as one who helps a lot and who almost can compromise his time to give solutions in the best interest of the company. I was given the opportunity to treat with clients most information that relates to their business whilst providing my accounting services. This has given me more responsibility to be seen as the solution to my clients. I have acquired a lot practical accounting skills and I also managed to learn on how to use relevant accounting software. I learnt how to the prepare accounting reports from the source document onto producing financial statements. I have been involved in various trainings with other colleagues to keep ourselves up to date and relevant to the profession of accounting.

Life at work

This is what I do as part of my daily tasks: Source relevant client information process and reconcile annual transactions from source documents prepare working paper files resolve review queries process and reconcile monthly client transactions and procedures, monthly management account reports and, client statutory returns (VAT, EMP returns) Prepare client financial statements I enjoy what I and I have great colleagues. I have learnt a lot about VAT and monthly processing and payroll returns. I am always willing to learn but I battle with office politics
