Working at World Courier

A typical work day for me involves drafting estimate quotations to client for potential and existing clients, keeping in constant communication with client; other branches via telephone, email or Skype. My relationship with my co-worker is quite good as I have the kind of personal that is able to work well with people, gets along quite well with everyone. I have learnt quite a lot about the Logistics and Supply Chain field as a whole;been exposed to the different departments and how all the departments come together to make a common goal happen. What I enjoy most is the actual handling of shipment from start to finish as a project - from making contact with a client, establishing a client's needs and executing the actual shipment from collection to delivery right through to invoicing the client for payment and getting the revenue in. The most challenging part of my job is sometimes the lack of support from management.

Pros: Friendly co-workers.
Cons: Management delegates a lot more than supporting and providing assistance to staff, no opportunity for promotion.

Job

Contract position for 6 months. Nice Company to work for. Using SAP ,WORLD STAR Computer programs .only 4 people in accounts department. Deal with local and overseas clients USD

Great work environment

To be the primary contact for clients, this would refer to internal clients, World Courier offices around the world (includes World Courier SA). We worked as a team Great customer services and the importance of shipments with different handling requirements Providing excellent client services , correct pick up time and delivery time ,correct transport for the shipment and leaving the company with a bad reputation

Cons: 72 hours turn around for shipments

Learning new skills

It gives me the opportunity to communicate at all organizational level,enables me to talk with customers internally and externally. I like the challenge of assisting 4 managers l learn a lot each an everyday
