Bringing home the bacon !!

My role changed quite a bit over the last year with the structure changes implemented by the board. I have handed over most of my operation sales functions in the regions and taken over the Key Accounts function of all major customers - PnP , Checkers , Spar and Bidfood. It is really exciting as there is so much more we can do to grow these accounts however for now my main focus is: - Service levels at 95% - Communication is key , daily or weekly contact with all regional and national buyers to ensure they are satisfied with our performance - Promotional implementation and price management against competitors - Trade management - KPI's met and driven through all channels Biggest challenge at the moment is getting production on board and up to speed with orders and volume spikes for promo's. We are slowly getting it right as I have implemented forecasts , daily meeting with updates and priority planning.

Pros: I have never worked with meat processing (pork) and it was very interesting to understand production processes of our products. Managing key accounts again which I really enjoy!!
Cons: Trying to keep my team motivated when constantly let down by production. We are showing grow so getting there one step at a time.

This is a great learning curve

typical work day start with allocating payments and doing a age analysis, doing invoices then queries of retailers such as PNP and spar. i enjoy working with people and collecting monies

Cons: work long hours and there no place for growth
