Excellent growth path

-I enjoy working with people I am working with.it is a friendly and fun atmosphere and I am actually enjoying going to work every morning. The leadership team is great as well, they know all of their employees and they try to make those personal connections. I also enjoy the fact that the offices do community outreach with other companies (VCT). One of the reason I want to leave is that I feel am not challenged enough with my current position. The company offers a great opportunity for a good entry level position; however after being there for so many years, I am not being able to reach my full potential because of lack of challenge. I enjoy working there and I appreciate the skills I have developed with the company and I fell my skill set can be utilized elsewhere, where my capabilities are more recognised and there is opportunity for growth.

Pros: great opportunity for learning
Cons: working at different clinics

Very good experience gained, skills developed.

Pleasant surroundings, enjoy studying malaria, and learning new techniques. Enjoy working independently but also in a team. Challenging aspects is to improve the necessary communication channels, and find a strategy to which people will commit to work together. Enjoy selling my ideas to the team, and win them over. Good relationship with everybody. Somewhat flexible hours which is convenient, since I travel far. I enjoy report writing and presenting my data. I have learnt that I can manage to do anything that come across my way, be it administration, projects, finance, laboratory work, forming new working relationships, and at all times to retain my value system.

Pros: Scientific development, and team work , get opportunities to work independently also which is satisfying.
Cons: No benefits like pension and the salary is not very high.

Excellent learning curve when it comes to HIV/Aids,HSV,STI en infections

My company have taught me lots of things about life en work,i have seen life in a different agle,i have learned more about HIV/AIDS,i have learned to interacting with with different people of different cultures en different personalities, confidentiality is my weapon at my work place,i enjoy working with my colleagues we are a great team en we communicate well en we all strive for success in our work,i have learned that there is life even when your HIV positive,HIV is not a death sentence,i enjoy it when im in the counselling room with the participant who is HIV positive accepting her status en later calling my company or my boss looking for me just to say thank you for the good work, the challenges aspects about my job is identifying en probing the participants who are being abused sexually, physical, financially or emotionally, some they hide their feelings of which its dangerous,en some they are denying their status en is my responsibility to make sure that they end up accepting it.

Pros: great opportunities for me
Cons: long working hours, under pressure even on holidays.

Thank you

Good experience i have.

Its always nice to work within a team with positive approach everyday never mind the situation at home or at work. Learnt what does the word ''private and confidential mean''. Importance of accurate work and daily production. I enjoyed working within different pc databases, there is nothing major challenging than when dealing with meeting deadlines of almost all projects i work within.

Pros: Great experience.
Cons: It depends.

There is no back up structure, creating burn out for a lot of employees.

I could be the only one who arrives, working the whole day. Typically trouble shooting infrastructure/ building related issues. I would also have to deal with external stakeholders telephonically and via email. Also have to receive stakeholders should the request to visit offices.

Pros: Closer to home
Cons: Work extra and no compensation

Learning curve

Its not easy to work for that company But it good to have a team of professional with passion about HIV management. There is no unity and executives doesn't involve us in decision making

Pros: Opportunities of study
Cons: Redandant portfolios

Nice place to work depending on the syndicate that one is in.

Generally nice place to work if you are a self starter and self motivated. Each syndicate may have a different work culture but my unit promotes growth as an independent researcher but that requires raising funds through new research ideas for proposals and research publications.

Pros: Flexible contract
Cons: Soft funded industry
