Life Lesson through Work Environment

Visual Marketing, home styling in retail creative space is my current work. My skills explore great knowledge with experience of working in a professional for over 12 years and willing to learn daily. My background in creative, marketing and sales industry has drove me to beautiful journey with my pass superiors, with team and costumers that have became great clients of the company.

Challenging in a positive way

Weylandts is the trendsetter of South African décor. Very designers orientated. Merchandising for Weylandts is a big accomplishment yet very challenging. You have to push yourself to the limits and will never accomplish perfection as the bar constantly rises. I manage a team of three merchandisers and three cleaning ladies in a 3500m2, three level building. Where we insure that every Weylandts customer has a unique shopping experience.

Pros: Monthly target incentive and yearly bonus
Cons: Working weekends

A Family Run/Based Business

The working conditions are beautiful, in line with the company ethics. One of the only benefits being a discount on food purchases. However, due it being being a family owned/run business there is a 'ceiling' to how much can be achieved, and growth within the company. Having just recently been retrenched from them (this not being a new occurrence in the company's history), I do warn new recruits to be vigilant and weary. There is also little to no culture. Departments work in silos, and management pay little attention to this necessity.

Pros: Great environment.
Cons: Little to no growth opportunities, and a history of retrenchments.
