Western Cape Provincial Treasury Reviews

Dealing with people face to face on daily basis is quite a challenge however it has become a norm

Work in office is a challenging environment meeting people with different mind sets , values , knowledge and attitudes of which you also need to adapt or rather have a good manner to assist them even though their the ones who are responsible for their company registration process, nevertheless it is my job to assist I stay humble and sweet all the time . if i know i cant handle a certain issue or person then i let my colleague take over with out any misunderstanding. In a way I have learnt that people are different with everything some appreciate your help and built a relationship somehow . And I've also learnt that workplace is not a place for friends/friendship people may want to use you as they want. I enjoy the working hour as much as I have enough time for work , family and friends.

Pros: Renewal of my contract
Cons: cant really complaint as i enjoy the working ours

I then received lateral transfer to as a labour relations clerk providing secretariat services to the IMLC meetings and delivering and receiving confidential documents, maintained databases. From there I was appointed as a senior admin clerk: finance in Eben Donges Hospital where I administered in and out going patients files. Excellent learning opportunity in the field of finance, and finding creative ways to solve problems.

On a daily basis i am responsible for assisting one of the municipalities in the western cape on their day to day operations should they have any problems, I enjoy organising training courses for municipal officials to learn more about municipal budget. that is where i get to also learn a lot on how budgets are conducted, learn about the challenges others fece and how they go about in solving them. The most challenging aspect is working with a colleagues who wants to take all the credit for the work that was done by a group of people. My relationship with my co workers, we have a mutual respect and understanding for one another we assist each other wherever we can since municipalities are rotated on an annual basis.

Pros: opportunity for growth
Cons: working with co workers who are not motivated

Dynamic environment

Government work is much more dynamic than I had initially anticipated. Besides the significant compliance agenda, their is a huge focus on sustainability within municipalities and provincial government departments. Managing a large diversified component ensures that my skills remain at the forefront.

Pros: Excellent learning opportunity
Cons: Significant legislative framework constantly changing
