I gained skills and knowledge working in a workshop with Artisans

I worked as a Tool, jig and Die Maker Apprentice for six months and I was retrenched due to economic down turn, My duties were learning about engineering drawings, CNC machine operating and programming, workshop tools, Measuring Equipment, Hand tools and Fitting and Assembling parts also filling. We worked well as a team in our department, sharing ideas and solving problems and working as a team made us accomplish deadline that we thought they were impossible. I enjoy working in a team that allows us to point out our opinions and discuss how to overcome challenges that we face in our tasks. The most challenging aspect was to create a door wedge starting from designing the structure and machining the project every size has to be accurate as in the drawing.

Pros: Working at this company enhanced my knowledge and skills for better employment opportunities
Cons: We worked eight hours per day and some of day we worked overtime depending on our deadlines and due date for the task
