The company is very customer centric and dynamic. Being responsible for commercial analysis of the business, no day is the same as yesterday. There are numerous requests for information on performance which you have to analyse and give insights to it. Budget compilation and control management, SCM, Asset management etc. is a great challenge in a Commercial Finance role. Relationship with co-workers is excellent as we working as a team. More importantly, with my role as "CFO" the business is dependent on financial information which I provide, which contributes to the healthy relationships I have. I have learnt to a change in career direction from a conventional Finance Manager to a Commercial Finance Manager. I now see the business at a strategic level and give strategic input. When the company leads the market in market share and the reporting on that. The most challenging aspect of my job is system response time. It be slow when you need it to respond quickly.

My current work experience

I have been at Vodacom for 5 years now and it's been a good learning curve for me. I work as part of a small team supporting them as the Programme/Project Manager to roll out and manage the MPLS network across Africa and Europe. I have learnt to export and import equipment to most of the African countries where we deploy our equipment. I have built excellent working relationships with my co-workers and customers. It's a very challenging environment but that's what makes the work enjoyable. I have worked under tremendous pressure to meet deadlines but all my projects have been a great success.

Pros: Great work experience.
Cons: Limited Growth as I've been working here for 5 years as a contractor.
