Vlakfontein clinic Reviews

Excellent growth and learning opportunity

A working day as a Professional Nurse Midwife heading the Antenatal care department involves proving treatment, management, health education for women of child bearing potential. I am responsible for preconceptions care, antenatal care, postnatal care, providing family planning and immunisation of infants. My relationship with my co-workers is great as we work as a team able to function independently as-well as a pair to ensure the best nursing care is given to patients. I have been fortunate to attend numerous training for professional and personal growth which has helped me to be able to manage and treat patients independently and sometimes under supervision. The most challenging part of my job was learning to initiate patients on antiretroviral drugs. The best part was learning how to initiate patients on antiretroviral drugs with the help of my mentor I am able to function independently.

Pros: Learning opportunities, great work ethic
Cons: Opportunities for growth and further studying are limited

Great working experience

It is a small and great working environment , with a wonderful experience gained. Where different people from different culture and socio- economic backgrounds meet everyday. We as employees tend to socialise everyday became we are a small group and working together is our philosophy. I have learnt to treat everyone unique and not compare people. I enjoy working with people especially clients. It is a great company but the only challenging thing is lack of resources , space and large catchment areas.

Pros: Enough to learn alot
Cons: Lack of rotation in the workplace
