Great learning place

Process engineer working in the tendering department.We work on water treatment plants proposals.Doing client specification review,design,technical specification evaluation,cost evaluation.I work with a team of engineers,mechanical cost estimator who deals with piping and valves,draftsman,and proposal engineer.In my line of work you have to have good communication skills and a good relationship with team members,because as a process engineer you are the technical leader of a project,you have to give the draftsman rough skeches to make P & ID and plant layout,you have to give the mechanical engineer valve list and piping list and do technical equipment evaluation for correct pricing and put the technical proposal together.The most challenging aspect of the job is putting together a good price for the client and best technical proposal.

Hard worker

I am a young energetic African male who has a lot of self-discipline and adapts easily. Good platform for learning client requirements and building and a productive and relationship

Compile daily and monthly reports, analyse sample results for necessary chemicals dosing adjustments. Attend daily meetings with client for Recon and plant efficiency. Report dreakdowns to engineering and review checklists for maintenance. Toolbox talk with operators

Pros: Great platform for growth
Cons: working after hours and sometimes during weekends

Excellent experience

Company recently went through a restructuring and 35 permanent employees were entrenched. Current economic situation does not dictate that any further projects will be available soon.

Experience and exposure gained

I have gained a lot of exposure within the engineering and construction and also water treatment sector. Planning, construction, machinery and execution of projects is what I learnt the most.

Pros: Great engineering skills acquired.
Cons: No room for promotion.

Good learning experience

Learning of Scada and Biogas Understanding production processes and fault finding. Multicultural enviroment and good working atmosphere. Good communication and co worker and management relationships. Management and working eviromentvand resources are constantly updated and monitored to make work easy and simple. Good company iremuneration and bonuses.

Fast Leaner and Team Player

At work early. Receive bank statement on a daily basis. Capture on the accounting package. Very happy environment to be working in.Staff very friendly.Team player.The challenge I was faced was to bring all the the customers to current which was done. To keep all customers on current basis and maintain a good relationship with them.

Great exposure and learning experiences

create 3d modelling using inventor from p&id design water treatment plants create working drawings from inventor modesl with accurate bom's update drawing register contact suppliers for quotes and material tracking i work well in a team and co-workers i enjoy a challenging and intricate work

Better opportunity

The typical day to day work involves running of the plant as a process controller. The plant is a desalination plant where brine is treated from an existing spiral reverse osmosis plant. Thus far I have learned to work as a team with my fellow co-workers as this gives better plant goal achievements. Most importantly I have learned the aspects from proper ways or methods of how to run the plant.
