Good team work

Dear Hiring Manager I am excited to be applying for Draughtsman Planner position. I am a graduate in bachelor in mechanical engineering technology at the University of Johannesburg. What has motivated me to apply to this position is your firm's participation in several key infrastructure projects that are line with my career mechanical engineering and the ability for this position to be a part of that work. I worked as a junior mechanical engineering draughtsman for Veolia Water Technologies, a large water treatment plant company that specializes with designing and building water treatments plants .I worked directly with projects engineers, process engineer, senior mechanical draughtsman and senior mechanical engineering team for projects in order to develop water treatments plants .I worked with 2D, 3D dimensional drawings using Autodesk inventor software for engineers. I did piping and frames drawings for workshop fabrication.

Fast learner, motivated and inspired.

I work as an operator at an effluent plant as well as a water analyst since I analysed the boilers, cooling towers and chiller units, I work on a daily basis but if it is required for me to do shifts I have no problem adjusting to my daily routines. I work hard and smart always try to be the best as I can be. I take my work very seriously hence I even went back to school this year but on a part time basis. This was actually my last semester I'm glad it was a productive year for me and my colleagues we managed to get the targets we were required to do we work very well as a team and have an understanding it's more like we are family. We push each other to greater heights so we can do best in all we do.

Pros: Great opportunities to go to school and learn more
Cons: Long hours

Learning curve and working under pressure

We deal with different clients and suppliers, so having to learn different specifications and demands from different clients helps you to grow as young engineer .Me getting this opportunity is another chance for me to prove my self

Pros: Exposure
Cons: It's a flat structure so you end up doing the same thing

Excellent in water treatment, still a learning curve

It's a great company for start, since it gives students that platform but it pays less after internships and always hire on contract basis and take long time to Make employees permanent. Great stuff and technology within the company

Excellent troubleshooting skills

I have been working for veolia water for 3 years now in a brine concentration plant, treating brine water with carbon filters for TOC and color removal, ultrafiltration membranes to do away with fine particularly and reverse osmosis membrane for salt removal. I have gained a lot of experience working in such a advance and challenging plant, and the level of knowledge in me grows everything now and again. I have good problem solving skills, troubleshooting and I prefer working as pers or more to make work easier

Pros: Realiable to my managers
Cons: I can work under pressure

Learning the civil side of the scope and how to go about EOT claims and disputes

Many challenges to get the sub contractors to obey by the timeline and progress. Rework and the quality of work can set us back on the projects. Sometimes you have to micro manage sub contractors because of progress. I enjoy the fact that we progress on a project and we work as a team to achieve the end result.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn all disciplines
Cons: Be careful for sub-contractors who are not up to standard
