VBS Mutual Bank Reviews

Learning Curve

An interesting learning curve to work for this company due to its relative new-ness. Also a good company to work for as it provided an opportunity to put in place new policies and implement them. The challenges had to do mainly with creating or maintaining a balance between relationship management with clients and enforcing contracts or the legal principles on which those contracts were based.

Pros: Great working environment
Cons: Company too small compared to previous companies I have worked for

Excellent learning curve

VBS Mutual Bank was a bank based in far north Limpopo province. I had a good working relationship with my supervisors and co workers in general. Communication and good customer service was the key to the success of the company. I enjoyed working and interacting with customers of different age groups (mostly elderly people) on a daily basis. I worked very hard, and was promoted and placed in different positions within a very short space of time. Given the workload and extra hours I had to put in, the salary wasn't that good, I worked for 8 years and the highest amount I received was R6000 as a Branch Administrator. The challenging aspects include lack of recognition, working overtime without pay, salary not good and the company was only based in Limpopo far North. I resigned in 2008 to look for other opportunities. Now the company is liquidated due to misuse of funds by the executives.

Pros: Good customer service
Cons: Unpaid overtime

Good in learning new things and good time keeper

I'm a very energetic and easy to work with, team player putting the best of the company ahead. Always finish my deadlines in time, always professional and easy to confront. I'm self desciplined and so accurate on my work.

Pros: Always working hard on knowing more of the company and I love growth
Cons: Im a workaholic

Eye opening experience

It was extremely challenging at times because almost everything was manually driven but at the same time, you were learning things as and when you do them. Those things taught me independence, understanding processes more clearly thank having to depend on a computer/system all the time to do things for you. Interactions with clients and helping them understand their accounts and finances gave me joy and taught me things about myself that I didn't know I possess. Colleagues were great to work with but challenging at times because of not getting the necessary information you require at times, so had to find alternative ways.

Pros: Got experience in a lot of departments
Cons: Long unpaid hours and no processes in place.
