Excellent motivated workforce. Was rewarding to see personal growth in my subordinates.

World leading company in the manufacturing of Vanadium products. A company very much focused on safety and the well-being of all employees. i focused on developing employees to a point where cross-functional departments could be established to have a more efficient team in general. I have always strive to maintained good relationships with subordinates, management and all stakeholders. What i have learnt and i try to teach to upcoming managers is that being in a position of seniority means that you need to act on behalf of others and not to yourself. The higher your level - the harder you work. What i enjoy most was the challenging aspects that need to be approach with strategic thinking with the assistance of various stakeholders.

I had a great experience

I had a great experience at Vanchem , was working day shift the most , at 07h00 we have a tool box meeting its also called safety meeting we discuss what happen the previous day and we get job cuts for the day. we get pared for jobs usually by experience on how long have u worked on a specific task and we help each other on that aspect, thats how we learnt most of the tasks. we usually work long hours if we have a break down. the most challenging thing about my work was the toxic environment even though we have PPE that was the most challenging, other than that it was a great company

Job security

Company under business risky. Sale negotiations undergoing between vanchem and new company that want to take over by means of buying. We work less hours and paid for hours worked.

Pros: Only considered shift electrician
Cons: No pay when off
