Flexible, adaptable to change.

I am currently working as a Hospitalization Review Nurse at Universal Healthcare (Clinical Risk Department: dealing with Case management, pre-auth reviewing and assessing of claims), I previously worked as a File Assessor at Arwyp Medical Centre as well. My first step into the healthcare world I started as a Unit Administrator at Netcare Clinton Hospital, and there after took on the Nursing Leanership at Netcare. I am an Enrolled Nurse and I also have an Office Administration Certificate, currently busy a management in healthcare certificate with Arwyp’s medical centres institute. Given the opportunity I believe I would be competent in this position because I have the relevant experience and I have great passion for Managed healthcare and good leading and team playing skills. Systems: SAP, NEO, Anita, CRM, OTRS, FLEXGEN, UIRM. I am very adaptable to change and I am flexible.

Pros: great growth opportunities for growth in managed healthcare
Cons: office politics (which are everywhere)

Good learning experience

An exciting working environment with different professionals, like nurses, case managers, brokers ,pharmacist, etc. We learn from one another everyday. Interaction with medical aid members and service providers keep us on our toes and bring the best out of us. We aim to provide excellent service to keep our members and other stakeholders happy all the time. The knowledge we gain from the inhouse training is valuable. The tools of our trade are readily available by the click of a button, IE. Treatment protocols, guidelines for practioners and formulary medicine lists. The challenging aspect of my job is dealing with irate members when their medical benefits for the year are exhausted.

Pros: Learning environment that prepares one for better opportunities
Cons: No input in structuring of future products for betterment of service

Has been a place similar to my previous job with Discovery Health, a lateral or horizontal move.

It has been a beautiful place o work for. I have managed to create rapport among managers, colleagues and other interdepartmental employees. As with every jobs there will be hiccups but these are inevitable and should never be the basis for a new job. I enjoy my job with it's redundance and monotonous tones. Have pretty much become stale towards answering phones all-day. I have learnt a great deal, my managers clinical levels are legendary to say the least. No challenges hence the monotony.

Pros: Great opportunity for learning
Cons: 24 hour oncall for which we are not reimbursed fiscally, no overtime, only two minor benefits

Great learning curve

I work in the Medicine Management Provider department. My day starts from 8-5pm and I manage a team of 7 pharmacist assistants. My department is taske with ensuring beneficiary medicine compliance management where we contact scheme beneficiary and advise them on the use of thier medicines and counsel them on the importance of compliance. I manage and participate in all scheme initiatives presented to the department which has allowed me to work closely with other company stakeholders i.e. IT and Fund Department. I'm also expected to engage and communicate with other SPN in ensure complete beneficiary care management. I have created and maintain healthy work relationships with both my subordinates and my peers, as team participation is key in the successful completion of the tasked initiatives. Company constraints in skills development is a frustrating challenge.

Pros: Great learning experience
Cons: No promotion opportunities

Learning curve in all aspects.

The company is a learning cure as it is also growing. There are still loads of development that is still to be done by the company as a whole. There is not much in terms of growth to management level as the people in the roles have been there for years and unless they resign there will be no vacancies.

Pros: Great opportunities for innovators.
Cons: Not enough growth opportunities.
