Ubuntu Education Fund Reviews

I have learned how to work under pressure and take decisions when my supervisor is not there

I am working for Ubuntu Education Fund an NGO company, it is a big organization offering many programmes for our community. I am a Data Capturer / Receptionist at ARV clinic working as well with Department of Health. The organization is very busy especial during the afternoon or school holidays because we are working with children. There is a team work, we work together and we support each other with my co-workers. I learned how to communicate with people, how to handle work pressure, to meet deadlines on time and to talk in front of the people. I enjoyed working with people and solving some of their problems, hosting or organizing events for them. The most challenging part is when you have to deal with clients who are defaulting or refusing to take their treatment.

Pros: Opportunity for Promotion
Cons: I am working from 8-17:00 Monday to Friday

Great Learning Experience

Nice working environment with friendly employees. Work hard under a lot of pressure. I have learnt a lot including how to work with Pastel Sage evolution, processing petty cash and performing bank reconciliations. I enjoyed the interaction with staff and team building activities. I feel like the work load is a bit too much.

Pros: Great learning experience and opportunity for job marketing
Cons: too much workload

Excellent learning curve

Lots of pressure. Deadline oriented. Punctuality is key. No real sense of job security. Great for learning and gaining skill of being tough in the corporate Industry.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn
Cons: Not a good time management structure. (Unrealistic)

Counseling, research

Basically, my typical work day looks like, in the morning I see clients that I have appointments with for counseling sessions. Then in the afternoon I see unscheduled clients for counseling based on different issues that they experiencing. What I enjoy the most is to be able to provide counseling and provide training to the staff. One thing that I don't enjoy which I'm currently working on it is paper work. There is a lot of paper work to be done. However, I'm managing to cope and to get things done.

Pros: Great opportunity to make a difference in other peoples lives.
Cons: Large target of clients to be seen in a week.
