A Day in the life of an Online English Teacher

I teach English online to Asian students. These students can be from anything be from the age of 4 to Adults. I get to work in the morning find I will be using for the day, log in to my tutor page. I check my teaching sessions and what time they will be and then I start my prep and wait for my classes to begin.

Pros: Nice organisational culture and working environment
Cons: Long hours, Working overtime, Only one day off a week and all this for little pay. Little opportunity for growth.

Excellent experience

It has been a great learning experience, have learnt quiet a lot from doing the job. I starting to love what I do which includes tutoring English to Asian students. It has been challenging but really beneficial I get to learnt how to deal with different types of students with different personalities which is really amazing. I now know how to deal with students that have big personalities, students that are shy as well as students that are very difficult. So it's quite an experience.

Cons: Breakdown in communication between superiors and workers

A taste of a different culture

Taught English over the web, on a webcam. We taught Chinese students of all ages, using learning material best suited for their individual levels. We thus rated the student after every lesson and as such, the students also rated us on how we conducted the lesson and if they were satisfied with the learning material too

Pros: Great way to exercise my mandarin and learning of the diversities our countries have across the world
Cons: Long hours and unruly terms of employment

A great way to skill yourself and students

I have worked in various sales and customer services environments, I did administrative work as well as banking. I am currently working from home doing online English tutoring where we upskill adults as well as toddlers. My daily tasks are reports, lessons as well as individual client reviews.

Pros: Great knowledge entailed as well as sharing
Cons: Classes are not stable
