A typical work day would include administration of the shift. Dealing with junior staff on a personal level or professional level. Liaising with other departments for action and/or feedback. Dealing with customers, which could entail a dispute or someone that is under the influence of intoxicating substances, which can be very challenging. I learnt over the years about diversity, the different cultures I was working with, how to be sympathetic and empathetic. Having to have good listening skills. I enjoyed a good working relationship with staff at every level, from the junior staff to the exec managers. Some of my most memorable times over the years has been to watch the junior staff grow, from the day they came into a training school, how to be a dealer, to being on the gaming floor, and watching them climb the ladder of success. I have enjoyed passing on my knowledge of my 30+ years in the industry.

The company has allowed me opportunities to learn more about what I do, through training opportunities and support for studying further, as a result great opportunities existed for throughout the group for career advancement.

It is a great company to work for

It is a great place to work for with great benefits. Work with great co-workers and boss. Great team work with my colleague in that we assist each other with bigger projects where we sit in the same meeting, share ideas and help each other to execute the project. Good relationship with my boss. We meet every Tuesday to discuss my projects and progress I have learnt to multitask and also share new information with my colleagues and also train my subordinates on the work that I am doing to empower them.

I gained a bucket load of learning and knowledge in all fields in the hospitality industry.

Coordinating maintenance and repairs including quality management monitoring performance, authorizing of completed work and authorizing payments. Physically inspect reactive, routine, planned, Capex and Suncare maintenance in order to review compliance with set standards. Coordinate and ensure compliance with the latest health and safety and construction regulations among maintenance officers and external service providers. Issue basic material lists to maintenance officers and building supervisors and obtain monthly stock control reports. Provide the building supervisors and maintenance officers on call with after hour emergency guidance. Coordinate tender process. Perform monthly audits. Responsible for quarterly building audits Responsible for foreign health and safety audits when required. Prepare monthly checklists. (waterplant, sewerage plant, boilers, generators "500kva, 2x 250kva, 1 x 150kva", exterior lighting, 5 x pools) etc. Provide training and skills to maintenance officers in need of assistance.

Pros: extremely knowledgeable.
Cons: Never had the correct resources and under qualified staff.

Excellent customer service

I am Luleka Kalimashe, I have studied hospitality management. I am currently working in Capetown Southern sun Newlands as a reception ist, prior to that I've worked at Southern sun waterfront as Front office administrator and a switchboard operator. I am now looking for a opportunity for a new challenge to enable my skills. and I am willing to relocate to a place where I would settle in and not require to relocate again. Learning each day

Basically working currently is amazing a vast industry with day to day tasks of checking if all servers are functioning properly with the available space it needs the gaming environment consists of multiple challenges everything has to be on point users logg calls on the call logging system it's a choice to assist them remotely if the problem doesn't require hands on, teamwork is very important to build a good relationship with fellow colleagues brings trust and decipline in a department

A good place to start your life. As a fresh employee from school or a dropout of tertiary.

An industry with lots of opportunities. This was my first working environment and I have no other comparisons. So far it gave me an opportunity to study further and end up being a BSc graduate. The other good part is working with different customers everyday and having to be a team player of a large operational environment like a casino floor.

Ending of a era

I have been a entrepreneur for many years and have gained many skills. I know need to exercise these skills more effectively. Experience is my strong suit with strong operational management back ground. Setting up BOP and implementation of those i like. Managing multiple disciplines from fron of house to industrial side of yhe buisness. Overseeing all day to day operations starting from 5 am to 6 pm dealing with awesome co workers to whom im very close to. I have learned to fokus and to multi task and touch on every single oart of the buisness whether its technical or administrative. I enjoy people and success and being busy. Challenges is that there always not enough time in the day to do more and dealing with very difficult people but this pushes me even more.

Excellent

I am a friendly person and easy to adapt,I am an honest and reliable person,I am very good with teamwork, I have learned that I must not just focus on doing one thing as my company has too many department so learning what other departments are doing is a good thing and it also helps to be creative and ambitious, I like fixing things and at same time I like purchasing and and doing paperwork because I am a multi talented person.

Cash in and out. Taking care of internal and external customers,. Motivate and groom the team to grow in their field. Look at better ways of cist saving. Communicate company and team visions and goals. Balancing reconciliation.trace errors to avoid neagative audit findings. Comply with FICA laws. Check equipments that is on operative state. Protect company funds and recources

Pros: Have a satisfaction of achievememt, and when you get home you know work is done and finished following day you will start a new day
Cons: Leave job not finished, not having time to socialize
