Excellent Learning Curve

The passion of wanting to consume my career trajectory into the compliance arena became evident when I was an intern for a year in the legal and compliance department at Transnet SOC Ltd. During my stay, I got exposed to understanding the fundamentals concerning the compliance risk management framework, policy, process, monitoring and reporting within the entity. I was also exposed to the consultative process of identifying legislative risks, risk rating such risks using the enterprise risk management method, producing the compliance plan for the operational division, developing compliance control plans, and assisting with the monitoring and reporting of compliance issues to the executive committee.

While one is afforded the opportunity to study further through a bursary scheme, we are not afforded the opportunity foron the job experience and promotion.

A typical work day - During a typical work week, one of my biggest tasks is checking my to-do list and prioritizing major tasks at hand. UsuallyTypically on Mondays I would meet with my line manager to discuss where we are with certain tasks and then meet again during the week to discuss progress and to determine next steps. Necessary communication with relevant stakeholders are set up (those impacted by tasks) to determine. You relationship with co-workers -I have an excellent professional relationship with my co-workers, which gelled quite nicely with the company environment. People assisted one another. We worked as a team to solve problems and learned new skills to reach our team objectives.

I have been practising as a procurement practitioner since 2007 to date rendering the following services, amongst other: Searching for potential suppliers on the vendor list in order to invite them for tendering; preparing tender enquiry documents including requests for quotation documents; negotiating tenders to ensure that the Business obtains value for money through selecting best suitable tenderers for contract award.

Best Company to work for

the company i work for is one the top employers, has proper benefits. However, many people who have reached their years are not ready to go on a pension, which makes it difficult to have a set way of doing things. We are moving in the 4th industrial Revolution which means more fresher minds.
