Toyota South Africa Motors Reviews

Good Exposure

My job entails daily dealings with people from all level, i.e. shop floor employees, line Management, Senior Management. The main thing is to maintain a good relationship with all parties and assist in resolving conflicts. The Company has taught me so much about working independently without supervision and accountability. I have used my conflict resolution skills in cases where there was conflict between employees. I really enjoy the culture of continuous learning at Toyota as it encourages one to develop. The nature of my job is generally challenging as I am dealing with different types of people from different levels.

Pros: There is room for developing to more senior positions with the Company
Cons: Long working hours at times

I want to work for any vibrant Manufacturing company

A typical day is to investigate design and manufacturing cost reduction ideas . Contact Japan designers and discuss ideas , contact and visits all local suppliers to discuss ideas. Co-ordinate issue of Engineering Change document and make sure local suppliers understand and are able to implement on time without disturbing current production. Design and development of SA local conversion vehicles Live Avanza Panel Van , Toyota Legend 50, GRS , Quantum ... Support to Body Plant, Paint and Plastics Plant to make sure their Engineering problems are solved as quickly as possible without disturbing production. I enjoy problem investigation , customer , supplier or even Plant .... Most challenging part of my job is that I have to go all way out because no one knows the solution...

Pros: Leading and teaching young Engineers
Cons: Long working hours and always presenting ...

Excellent

I have recently obtained a National Diploma from Tshwane university of Technology in Mechatronic Engineering based in Pretoria, South Africa. I completed my work integrated learning at Toyota South Africa Motors as a Mechatronic Technician trainee where I obtained certificates in Hydraulics and Pneumatics from Toyota’s training academy where I worked as part of the assembly plant maintenance crew where we assembled various models of Toyota vehicle destined for export. I am a hard and determined individual who would like to further my engineering career on an international level in order to grow as an engineer and as person. Please take my application under consideration as it would be invaluable for me to work and learn at such a prestigious company. I am currently enrolled at UNISA toward a second Diploma in Information Technology. Faithfully: Mr Leseli Mahlatsi

Great learning experience

It's a great working experience. Limited room for growth and promotions. It's engineering focused however, which is not my career focus.it's a big company, and those in the engineering field have plenty of room to grow and develop. It's a good career path to take. It's not very diverse in terms of people, culture and still male dominated. But generally, great company, great benefits

Pros: Great working experience
Cons: Company focus is engineering

Excellent working experience

Work at manufacturing plant is great .I get a lot of experience in manufacturing and working environment. I've learned a lot about working as a team, using tools and equipment and that safety is very important also important to take pride in your working being organized completing all tasks before end of shift. What i enjoyed the most seeing the finish product it's gave me sense comfort see and knowing that i had part to play in creating its. The most challenging aspect is being contractor not knw if you will have the job next month or not.

Pros: Great exposure in manufacturing industry
Cons: Short term contract
