Liaise with main contractor prior to any activities

My day starts at 07H00 , I have to report on site, check if all is well. Review previous work's production and plan on the current day. Check if all employees have their protective clothing, liaise with supervisor on any challenges. I have learnt the construction employees behaviour, how the industry works, what to look for to obtain a good deal, how does grading play a role on what size of a contract you can tackle. Suppliers behaviour and their preferences. Updating all statutory documents. I enjoy the buzz whilst there is a plan on paper and anticipate on getting expected results. The job is challenging because our Main contractor hardly plan ahead and he expects us to immediate all actions. When we run out of materials that we use. Conflict between employees waste time and hamper production thus need an immediate attention.

I am keen on getting and keeping order using data input to analyse and improve

I am on site by 07H00 in the morning to check on who is present or absent. Liaise with supervisor, check PPE and liaise with Main Constructor supervisor and get clear instruction for a day or even for the whole depending on a scope. Get back to the office, read and reply to email, set up meetings and make follow ups. During the day update Payroll, Creditors and other admin functions. Get new suppliers, do budgets, reconcile EFT, Card Payments and Petty cash.

Pros: Able to get out of the office and get a clear understanding on what is happening on site.
Cons: The scope is vast thus I find myself not specializing on anything
