Great Entry Level Experience

I am currently employed in the General Litigation and Matrimonial Department as an Associate. I deal with contractual disputes, drafting of contracts, Correspondent litigation for banks, divorces, maintenance claims and protection orders and child access matters. I manage my on files and cases daily. I get along well with my colleagues as I am generally a friendly and happy person who is always positive. I communicate well with them and am an easy to talk to person. I am also very professional in my approach to clients. I have a great deal of litigation skills, how to handle complex client matters, efficiency, being ethical and professional when dealing with cases. The most challenging parts about the job are having to deal with matters such as divorce and maintenance as clients tend to be emotional and we have to try and make them remain calm and also be reasonable.

Pros: Great opportunity for specialisation in Commercial Law
Cons: Not much opportunity for growth

Develop clear vision of my work

On Monday I begin by going over the list from the previous week, setting priorities, then check the calendar to refresh my memory on the upcoming week. I get along with my colleagues – not just for the sake of the work environment, but for the sake of the company and its success too. I have learnt that at work you learn new thing everyday therefore it is important to ask if you are not sure of something rather then doing something wrong. I enjoy satisfying clients and making sure that their needs are meet. I work in Medical Department and the most challenging aspects of my job is listening to clients sharing their touching stories and as sad as it is I make sure that I comfort them and let them know that we will do our best to help them.

Pros: to get along with your co-workers is the greatest indicator of job satisfaction
Cons: If you’ve ever experienced job comfort, you know it’s not all it’s cracked up to be
