Great learning experience

I started working here at tile Africa in August and although I really enjoy it I still feel I have stronger administration skills and would prefer to work for a set salary instead of commission I also would like to work weekdays only as I hardly spend time with family working retail hours. Please give me this opportunity to grow in my career and still have more stability as retrenchment are high in my current job industry. I would like to add value and still be happy. Thanks in advance.

Excellent introduction to the building sector.

I have been in the retail sector for 20 years. I have grown from the very bottom through sheer hard work and determination. I am a highly motivated individual. I thrive on challenges and working under pressure. I am sales oriented, chasing the next sale, hitting budgets and overcoming any obstacle at all cost. This is what I consider to be my strengths. I am a developer by nature and find it inspiring to grow, nurture and mentor individuals. I personally find it very rewarding to watch individuals that have worked under my guidance flourish and succeed.

Great learning experience

I have been working at Tile Africa for 4 months now and as much as I enjoy the challenge i really want a more consistent salary working on commission hasn't been easy I do enjoy working more in Administration as I have more experience coming from Incredible connection which was a more complex position. This position will be exactly what I can enjoy and become good at all in due time as I am a quick learner I work well under pressure and will add great value to your company.

Pros: We get Sunday's off
Cons: Working on commission,we not in a busy area

Excellent learning curve

It's rather demanding job both from clients and head office . I handle the Admin side of the business as well support our sales team . Deadlines are to met timeously. Reports are to handed in timeously . I work with management /sales team and warehouse staff . I enjoy that my job is not monotonous.

Pros: Gained and learnt all that I know at Tile Africa
Cons: Restructure retail market has been quiet

Great mentor

36 years Retail Management experience. Mentor and supportive. Go getter with good understanding of the retail market. I was tasked with re-writing Standard Operating Procedures for Tile Africa. I was responsible for daily operational reporting for the group. As senior manager I was tasked with mentoring new Store Managers and acting Regional Manager. I received numerous awards including "Store Manager of the Year", "Store of the year" and "Most Improved Store ". I love a challenge and pride myself on my loyalty. I am firm but fair in my dealings with staff and have.

Pros: Great work ethic.
Cons: Like thing done right

Excellent team player, sound and broad technical construction knowledge, good contract management

Overall a good company to work for but very limiting personally. Ample opportunity to grow the business but lacking in foresight and business ambition. Structurally rigid but a lovely place to work.

Its a great opportunity to work with people from different backgrounds.

I deal with customers on a daily basis. Its always a great experience when the customers come back to show us pictures of how their homes turned out. We always act with integrity and our actions are ethical and equitable. It can be stressful at times especially when one has to make target and ensure that the store budget is met.

Pros: great opportunity for promotion
Cons: long working hours and not enough off days for rest.

I love my job. I just don’t like the environment I work in

I have nothing good to say about Tile Africa. I prefer to keep my comments private because it would seem unprofessional of me to speak my mind. Your limit is 150 words and I believe those are too little to describe this company

Pros: I get a 13th Cheque
Cons: There is no structure or stability yet you are still expected to be productive.
