Three Rivers Lodge Reviews

This was an extreme learning curve at my age, and I have concurred.

Three Rivers Lodge, Anna's Kitchen was a High Light of my life to work at. This is a company with high values and strive to excellent service. We were 24/7 under pressure to perform our best and that made me perform to my maximum. We are working shifts from 6:00 to 16:00 or 15:00 to close (24:00) I have changed the working environment at Anna's Kitchen from fighting, morbid and sad to a team of people that will back one another always. I have learnt to be patient and that is okay no or I cannot do this. I have learnt to accept people for what they are and assist them to exceed in their performance. I enjoyed the interactions with the guests, the feeling of being part of the family at Anna's Kitchen. The hours and pressure to perform at all times 100%. Dealing with 7000 guests a month. Managing 41 staff members and most of them men was my biggest challenge.

Pros: I enjoy to work with people for people.
Cons: Long hours, no management support and no appreciation.

Excellent learning curve and implemented a well functional HR office as it didn't exist.

a typical work day is attention to detail as you work directly with guest. During the guest, I have to motivate staff, do disciplinary hearings and attend CCMA. The most challenging is to do two different jobs at the same time (conference and human resources). We are a big family and everyone is willing to help one another. As and HR person I enjoy building relationships with co-workers, union and the company.

Pros: learn a new working environment as I came from FMCG
Cons: The guest is always right, but we make things happen
