The Travel Company Reviews

Close knit small business

Working at this company is quite interesting. Some of my colleagues have been working with each other in the same type of business for the past 35 years. It seems like a family business. Everybody seems to be over the age of sixty five and we are only four that are under the age of fifty. The seniors still do lots of things the old school way and the young ones, make things a bit faster and smoother with their innovative ideas and working methods. Even though the travel business is an ever-changing and speedy way of arranging travel and accommodation, we still listen to some things that the seniors know more about, because of their experience. Even though there is no growth in the company for individuals, I suppose the seniors have found their comfort zone, until they pass on.

Pros: Happy environment
Cons: No room for a promotion or a salary increase.

First time in the travel industry and quite interesting

I have learnt a lot concerning travel in the past 18 months, but there is no room for financial growth. My colleagues are mostly senior citizens, who have worked with each other for over 30 years. It is like a family with no blood relations. Experienced in what they do and very comfortable in explaining the travel industry. Everyday is an experience on it's own. I enjoy working with the golden oldies. The most challenging aspects of this job is having lots and lots of patience for my colleagues. They are good people.

Pros: A excellent learning experience.
Cons: No increase in salary ever going to happen
