Managing a Consignment Retail Business handling various suppliers ( designers) in a Flagship Mall Of Africa Store, requires good grasp of leadership skills , proactive management qualities, effective execution of managing productivity throughout trade. Due to nature of bussiness, Combination of bussiness skills and the leadership influence to direct and shape the operation in continuously practising the good basic principle "do as I do" in monitoring the development of others. Large part of the operation is consistently improving and maximising sales in monitoring service by using various selling teqniques. Accountability of product and stock. Coaching , training and developing others remains a vital aspect of operation. M.Moagi

Cons: Extreme budget constrain, long working hours and managing constant patrol queries.

Excellent learning curve about sales, interacting .

I enjoy working at the Space ,because I used to work with customers and interact with people the whole day,and feel better when I helped a customer find a solution in his or her problem.working with my colleagues was nice this store was a store where they sell local designers clothes so us as colleage would help each other especially if a customer tells you what kind of event he or she is going to and we would help each other by suggesting the designers they think i can find what I'm looking for,the most challenging thing I would face was when a customer comes back and maybe change his or her mind about the garment and you explained the return policy which was NO REFUND JUST EXCHANGE WITHIN 7 days ,but a customer would cause I scene infront of everyone and would not calm down so you can talk to him or her in a civil way.

Excellent learning curve

Looked after 6 stores and 2 closed down. On a daily basis i had to check if stores were compliant with the communications matrix. Check if stock was being received on time and deal with customer complaints. Look at how stores are performing for the day at 12pm,2pm,4pm, and closing. Created a WhatsApp group to assist with communication and sending performance updates. Always created the desire for stores to want to be number one. Learnt that a team that believes and understands your vision will help you achieve it. Which means transparency with your team is important and holding them accountable is as important. A well motivated team which adheres to policies and procedures will succeed. I enjoyed how stores were excited about being number one and challenging was knowing what Cape Town stores are doing but I am in Durban. But I use to Skype in to check the store

Excellent leadership skills,good communication,management qualities,sales operation skills

I love working at retail it's a very challenging industry and am getting along with my colleagues meaning am not a political person. I've that you should be proactive,know how to deal with erate customer and adhere to retail principle that customer is always right at all times ,and always productive.customer service is a key for any retail store or any company and its face of a company that makes it to grow or make more profitable

Working under pressure and making sure my monthly target was reached

Working at my company was a lot of fun, with good people working around me and working with something that I loved. Typical day at work was making sure our clients left the store happy.

Good learning,good computer literate, telephone etiquette, customer service.

I have worked for six months at the space although i had worked in other companies. I have a good relation with co workers and management. I have learnt to be corparated,focus and be passionate about the job.the most challenging is when i had to reach my monthly target but that was not the case, i had a good records and a very constructive team.

Good

It's food working at The Space as I get to see different people every day and I like to communicate which makes my work every easy...I like challenges so THE Space gives me that cause I have targeted to make every month..I get to do many chores which I don't mind cause I like to multitask..e.g I do filling,back office work basically,receiving of stock,answering calls and help customers over whenever I can.

Gaining experience

Its a lovely company to work for having difficult customers sometimes but important we work as a team as produce great results . The company is owned by three people and its a collaboration of local South African designers.

Great environment

Great place to learn new things meet new people. You will be taught how to.convice people how to buy. You sell ice to Eskimos. Great place to showcase y0ur skills and to be active Cam easily grow if you willing but u need to push y0urseld
