The Scottish Group Reviews

Excellent Learning Curve

I start early in order to get things done early I have a bubbly personality and co workers generally do like me I have learnt how to evaluate fabrics, how to buy product, how to reject product, co-ordinate shipping, I enjoy the viby atmosphere the most challenging aspects is shipments that are delayed by customs

Pros: you get to learn every expect of the business
Cons: my brain does not switch off even after I leave the office

Great Learning curve

Work hours are from 8am-4:30pm. I analyse fabrics, reserve fabircs and ensure I style these up in time for sampling to occur and to meet my seasonal launch deadline. As I am the ladieswear designer, I work very closely with my colleague whom does the ladieswear production (ensuring deliveries are met). Communication is key in our relationship as Ladieswear is quite intricate, therefore we need to know each others information in order to be as efficient as possible with as little errors as possible. Currently Ladieswear is smaller than the menswear range, however, it has the potential to grow. I am competitive in my nature, therefore, being in this position has created a fire to achieve more. I have learnt that listening and staying within guidelines when designing is vital, however, pushing the boundaries within these lines is just as important. The challenge arises as the range cannot become too monotonous due to us being too contiguous of the guidelines as the range needs to include newness and excitement.

Pros: Great opportunity to find the gaps and understand our local market
Cons: overtime caused from travel
