Good environment, a chance of working with diffent clients and meet people.

Having to come to work and have your own deadlines to focus on, working with a great team. We meet a lot of clients ( Contractors, Engineers, and other stakeholders) Its challenging to have to explain if the contractors funds were not received from the client and it has been a while except for that its exciting to communicate with them for statements whilst preparing recons etc. The yearend functions, staff workshops that the company does is most enjoyable as it also includes activities for team building.

Pros: Its a learning curve
Cons: Working under preassure during audit times

Quite an experimental learning curve

My day starts at 8h00 am. The first i normally do after entering the office is check my emails and update my diary. Depending on what my day looks like i would normally go through engineers and specialists reports, attend to challenges on construction sites and make follow ups on any outstanding project issues such as submission of reports, payment certificates & invoices. I work in open space office with a group of other project managers where we share a lot of experiences and exchange casual conversation over a cup of coffee. We are like a close knit family, looking out for each other; sharing our different approaches to projects management and strategies on how each of us tackle project challenges. The challenging part of it is that because we are a group of project managers working on similar projects we are judged collectively and one's failure or negligence is everyone's. It is so much fun working here with my peers.

Pros: Great opportunity for growth
Cons: Company in financial trouble

A busy day that my lunch usually at my desk due to having every department reporting to me. We try to maintain a better professional working environment at all times, I have learnt to operate and manage the office on my own. The challenge is that you do not have a break time even if you want it is a busy department any time in a day is work time for you.

Developmental in Construction Projects, Programme and Safety Management

We learn new things every day. Stakeholder management, contracts management, including conflict management. I enjoy seeing myself going through the challenges, employing the skills and past experiences to pass through. It teaches me that everything belongs to God, as I go through what I am going through

Pros: Great opportunity for developments
Cons: Traveling in extreme remote areas and long hours on the road

Excellent

It is interesting going to work knowing that I will meet different attitudes. I have learnt do deal with different people. My duties include coordinating communication within the programme team. This is the most challenging task not knowing their reactions. But I enjoy because I know people I am dealing with. It gives me strategies on how to approach people.

Pros: Complete control over career
Cons: Acquire significant exposure to new practice areas
