Good relationship with Project Managers, Engineers, contract administrators and procurement personnel. Most challenging aspencts of my job are teh deadlines, but I enjoy it.

Very relaxed atmosphere. No pressure to meet deadlines.

Checking drawings is a very demanding job as the onus lies on your shoulder to make sure that what is drawn is correct to the latest information available. As a checker you have to obtain all the necessary information in order to start checking a drawing. You have to interact with the draughsman who drew the drawing to understand his idea . One cannot just except that what is on the drawing is always correct. It stimulates your mind to have an open look to new inventions.

Opportunities

Excellent opportunity to grow and learn different skills. Long working hours (6 days a week) Pressure from top management. Great opportunity to put processes and procedures in place and to communicate said processes and procedures and see the flourish in the field of work.

Use to be a very good loyal company to work for

Good working hours Good relationship with co-workers Gain good experience in the material handling industry with the projects I was part of. I enjoyed the variety of projects, customers and commodities. Problem solving and to give the client a excellent project that suite the requirements of the client and is a cost effective solution. The moment internal systems being ignored and short cuts being taken to get projects done "quickly", things start to run seriously wrong. Then it become a blaming game with lots of money spend on the wrong items.

Cons: Not a peoples company anymore.
