Recovering revenue whilst retaining our valued corporate customers

At Telkom. I manage two debtors books of R 200m and R 900m respectively. I have three operations managers reporting in to me i.r.o. of these two books with customers nationaly. WHils my job is mainly target driven I place a lot of emphasis on the working relationship with my ops managers and creating a seamless customer experience for the customers who keeps me (and the team) in a job. The main challenge is to maintain the balance of assertively driving timous recovery of outstanding debt whilst sustaining a workable relationship with the same customer. I would like to describe my relatioship with my team as "don't walk with your heart on your forehead, but know where your heart is"! I.e. walking the tight rope of being a slave driver and people's person". Whilst I enjoy the tough routine of the job, I need a new challenge as I believe i have achieved all of the goals I have set out for my team and I up to know.

Pros: Good benefits and structure within the company
Cons: No real cons besides the fact that I have been around long enough.

Excellent learning curve, exposed to technology and team work focused

My working hours start from 7:30 to 4:30, during the day I go out to clients premises and Exchange for OTDR and FasTest testing on Fibre. I get the proper training from my co-workers and I enjoy testing Fibre and accessing the softwares like Microsoft Visio, Unibase Portal for Network Planning . The most challenging part of the job is finding access at the clients premises for FTTH project when I need to test Fibre .

Pros: Great opportunity for growth and learning more about technology everyday
Cons: Limited to learn about other softwares for Network Planning
