The importance of caring for Elders

Each day is different with new challenges and with the help off staff members and auxiliary staff all milestones are achieved .The enjoyable part of my work is getting up in the morning and knowing that I am going to make a positive impact on someones life and making their lives worth living , although at times there are challenges such as not getting a specific job done as a result off lack of supplies or material .Managing Elders is rewarding and the challenges they face has made me much aware off what I need to prepare for when reaching that age and also gives a person a better insight of day to day living of Elders and their requirements .Planning fund raising and managing events is a great pleasure including interacting with the local community and public at large is most enjoyable.Educating donors about the organization i work for gives me great pleasure because when that interaction is taking place i find that the people i interact with find what we do very interesting.

My current role has exposed me to the following: - Board presentations - diverse staff and personalities - Donor management - Stakeholder engagement - Stronger partnerships with Corporates, Trusts and Foundation - People that are enthusiastic to help and support people from the general public - Staff and management that have brought out the best in me

Pros: Opportunity to work closely with the board to inform decisions that impact the organisation
Cons: Depressing at times when faced with vulnerable people that our organization has to support

Excellent Learning, growth Initiative

FjA Typical work day at TAFTA is s fruitful experience, you are exposed to alot of new things, different cultures, views, perceptions and ideas. The vastness of the staff is what makes it more beautiful, the diversity within the organization is a joy to see. The office equipment is not that old or outdated, every thing is up to date. The work schedule is do-able and the work load is not that intense. All in all working at Tafta is a joy.

Good learning curve

The Association for the Aged is a non profitable organization that depends on general public & corporates in order to continue operating , the NPO existed to serve the needs of the elderly , so the position of each & every Public relations staff is really critical as we generate the public's interest & create relationship with the public which at the end of the day we convert them to become donors, so we persuade we tell the story about TAFTA to the public we meet, we make friends & later convert them into Donors so it is really critical to have a Public relations Dept in an NPO sector & that is why we are sometimes called the Income development Department.

Cons: 7:30 am - 16:00
