Very varying, challenging, lot of travel, nice colleagues

A very varying job. E.g. decide on short notice to catch a plane to Dar es Salaam. Connecting to Mwanza, in order to identify/assess business opportunities for zero carbon industrial steam as sustainable energy source. Opportunities would be companies like Pepsico, Coca Cola Bottlers, SABMiller, dairies, etc. The next trip could be to West Kenya to identify sources of sustainable fuel for the biomass boilers. The job requires creative, out of the box thinking, initiative, resilience, and a strong sense of humour as well as the talent to relate with a large variety of people; from company CEO's to the receptionist at the entrance of the factory. Last but not least; nice colleagues. Above I entered Gordon's Bay since it is the office location. My work was focused on East Africa.

Pros: Not boring, challenging, travel, but not too long (2 weeks at a time), meeting interesting people, change, need to be selfdriven
Cons: financial insecurity of the company
