My Experience

I am the General Manager of the Sun1 Hotel in Johannesburg. I have the management contract with Tsogo Sun. My responsibilities are to oversee the day to day operation of the hotel. Recruiting and supervising staff. Building and grounds management. Stock control and suppliers management. My years of experience has equipped me to face challenges and responsibility that comes with any position in this field.

Facilities management

My present working environment is highly challenging yet exciting. Since joining the company I have grown my skills in leading people. As it is in the hospitality sector it also means directly interacting with guests on a daily basis. The business model used by Tsogo sun to manage this units, prepares all for bigger things in the property management sector. The responsibility given to the general manager to recruit staff, control, budgets, and manage suppliers contracts to name a few, only equips one to have a deeper understanding of facilities management.

Pros: Working at this company has helped me with personal growth.
Cons: Long hours and risky
