Daily interaction with customers while assisting them to resolve and clear technical errors and troubleshoot in order to experience a great viewing experience while I'm also learning and increasing my own knowledge base , both technically and theoretically.

Pros: Great learning opportunity about technical stuff.
Cons: Long hours with minimum break times

This company has moulded me into wanting to learn and develop my skills more into something bigger

at starsat we work as a team inorder for us to produce more effective results in the work environment. i have learnt that no matter what we do ,it will be successfully achieved aslong as it is done to the best of our abilities. the most difficult thing is dealing with angry people or unsatisfied service,but also if it is dealt with i the right way it becomes very easy

, excellent problem solving skills as well as good communication skills.

Working at starsat means dealing with many customers on a daily basis. I deal with customers telephonically and in person which can be challenging. My co workers are always willing to help each other and we often share a lot of good competition in the workplace. Ive learnt good communication skills from working in the call center and excellent customer service skills. Since Ive moved to the walk in center to deal with customers face to face, Ive also learnt how to manage petty cash and accounts. Process invoices and account payments. I really enjoy that the company I work for allowed me to learn different parts of the business. The most challenging thing at my workplace is the process that we have to follow. It sometimes happens to clash with providing quality customer service.

Growth oppotunities

Well, I have been with the company for almost 3 years and i feel there is no growth opportunities. If there is a position open, the company will place the work load on someone capable but with no increase for that job and no one gets hired to fill the vacant position.

Excellent

- Monitor systems and assist users with any sytem issues they might have. - My relationship with other co-workers is great - I have learnt to think on my feet, adapt to sudden changes quickly - I enjoy assisting users with their issues, learning new technologies - Teaching myself how to do things that my boss asks me to do, even though he doesnt show me how they are done..

Pros: I can work from home
Cons: The language barrier between me and my boss is a problem at times as he is chinese and his knowledge of English is a bit poor.

Learn how to accommodate all customers depending on their attitude and tone in voices

It is fun as I have to deal with different challenges and I get to understand what media is all about, the role it plays in our society and the importance of media. I have learnt to separate Personnal from business. Therefore for whatever challenges it could be billing or technical, I find joy when I customer understands the course. My colleagues are very interesting I get to learn the 11 South African languages as I work with a rainbow nation due to the targeted market.

Pros: Get to understand most aspects of the media business.
Cons: Shifts and it gives me less time to spend with my kids

Great learning curve

i have learnt to speak fluent and socialize well within a community.I have also learnt to apply myself and my capabilities to a good use.I have learnt to speak with customers in a well groomed manner.And the most challenging aspects were the fact that you had to please customer at any cost,even when it went against what you believed in.I mostly enjoyed the working and communicating with people of different nature or culture.Having to deal with difficult customers who made life a living hell.But my team members were very active and worked very well.We fought but resolutions were met immediately.

Pros: great opportunity for promotions
Cons: long hours,working on weekens
