Great experience in a High pressure and stressful environment

A typical work day in a Outage circumstance moves at an extremely fast pace, where deadlines on Boiler & Turbine inspections need to be met by the hour regardless of workforce, it can be very stressful but only if you are not organised and dynamic. I have an excellent relationship with everyone on site including my subordinates because I believe for my colleagues to work with me instead of for me. I have learnt a staggering amount from power generation, boiler and turbine engineering, to conflict resolution and customer care. I enjoy the Inspection part of my role because it's an area that I specialize in. Dealing with unrealistic demands and time frame allotted to those demands from Eskom & Carab Tekniva.

Pros: Fantastic earning potential
Cons: long and unsociable working hours, travelling long distances to site.

Internal boiler inspection training

I really liked that my last company put career growth front and center throughout my tenure. Their in-house training for inspection of boilers and defects allowed me to advance to a senior position. My work day may consist of 80% repetitive tasks with only 20% creative tasks. it always depends which area i am about to go for inspector. I had an excellent professional relationship with my co workers, which gelled quite nicely with the company environment. People assisted one another. We worked as a team to solve problems and learned new skills to reach our team objectives. “I made some good friends for life, who today can vouch for me on a professional basis. when i started this job, i had experience as a welding qc inspector but at this job i learnt how to do a boiler inspection in different areas, giving instructions to take immediately actions for maintenance or replacements.

Pros: this opportunity looks very attractive to me and i hope it will growth my future and learning process with new skills.
Cons: love to work for long hours.

I am sandiso sambo currently working for stanely inspection as a HSE officer with the legal duty to ensure legal compliance of ocupational health and safety matters I am currently working towords my national diploma in safety management .have accomplished samtract. Intro to samtract . Incident investigation . Legal loability and ISO 14001 ,18001 & 9001 intro, implementation and auditing

Good working space

It's a good working place, treat people with respect and you work normal hours during the week.They don't rush you to do the work but the want the work on time. And they always pay the employees on time at the end of month

High Pressure, fast paced Environment

Every day is a new learning curve with lots of challenges from which you are either remembered for failure or for halve successes. The relationship with co-workers is good at face front, but there are always stories to be told behind one's back, depending on the popularity of the co-worker. I have learned that people tend to judge how good you are by your last failure.

Difficulty in getting suport and training

Every day there is a struggle in getting the support needed and the training to fulfil duties and tasks. No daily guidance is given when asked for. Procedures and shifted. There is no consideration to staff.
