I am currently working at Medupi As Safety practitioner project as the Safety practitioner. I am in charge of all aspects of safety I have overseen Construction work Bulk conc erection, Piping and right through Form work. rete work, civil construction, Mechanical and Electrical, Steel I have drawn up project safety plans, written safe working procedures, drawn up and reviewed risk assessments, inspected machinery and equipment a nd audited contractors. Audits were internal and external.   I am experienced in incident and accident investigation and making recommendations to the Project Manager concerning incident and accidents investigations. I am well versed with OSHACT requiremen ts and have done extensive courses on Safety Management, Risk assessments, auditing and legal liabilities.

Excellent learning curve

I got along very well with my fellow employees as all employees working in the company treat each other with the same amount of respect, the company provides a great opportunity to even those with no experience what so ever.The employers place a significant degree of trust in their employees giving them the confidence to do more and eve better. Management makes a point thereof to visit sites (not close by) at least once a week to ensure smoothness.

Excellent

I work as a scaffolding inspector in a Petrochemical company .it is a highly dangerous environment because you have to make sure that you protect your self and someone next to you. It is a very great environment to work in different experience and different people. It is a place where people protect each other by intervening when it is necessary. Intervention is the best protection for injuries in any place of work.

Credit Controller

My day is broken down in 2 sections, I spend the morning concentrating on collecting money, resolving customer issues and the afternoon processing supplier invoices and resolving invoice queries. It's important for me to maintain a healthy relationship with my colleagues as I need them to complete certain functions resulting in me meeting my deadlines. I enjoy when results/deadlines are met, interactions between my colleagues where everybody gets along really well. Most challenging aspect would be not to push team members to hard when tasks are not completed on time, rather to find another way to get the job done is relatively short time.

Excellent learning curve, and good company to be part of.

Working in my industry you learn to manage serious pressure you also learn to work with different nationals from around the world. You develop many different skills you also forced to think on your toes and solve problems in a timely manner. I would say I get along well with all staff I work with on the job as well as off the job... my topical day is a 12 hour shift for 30 days straight the things I enjoy the most about my job is the team work and working with welll trained and open minded individual that are willing to learn and share knowledge with each other.

Pros: Good salary, company sends your for training.
Cons: Working Long hours, also working away from family for long periods at a time.

Company is very big and have big contracts and work in the docks in Cape Town and power industry been with the company for 6years company works in the whole of Africa
