Southern Implants Reviews

A great opportunity with many learning curves

A typical day started with with email from around the world asking for different design elements ranging from magazine adverts to business cards, even thou i didn't see many co-workers on a daily basis, I did make the effort to go and great some, working at Southern's had many challenges and being thrown in the deep end a few times had clearly strengthened my ability to think quick on my feet, the company had a very family orientated feel to it, with many social events happening.

Pros: great working enviroment
Cons: difficult people with no room for growth

Great to learn something out of my field of study, but boring and simple after the first year.

Work day starts at 8 and ends at 5, typical things include: -Checking project plans for the days relevant tasks -Dealing with emails from overseas -Conducting investigations and research related projects -Coding to ensure digital workflow is complete -Designing products and the marketing material as well as design history files Don't have much of a relationship with co-workers as I am a lot younger so they treat me like a child most of the time. No respect even though it is given. I have learnt how to design using SolidWorks. Working with processes but the process is too small, SISO system. Automating the digital workflow.

Pros: Close to home
Cons: No opportunity for promotion, long hours, little pay

I have learnt to deal with difficult clients.

My name is Nthai Patricia Nong, I am 36 years old. I like to work at Southern Implants, and my relationship with my co-workers is very good and what I like the most about the Company is its stability but am not happy about the amount that I am earning currently. I have got a family to look after so the money is not enough for me. I have learnt how to work with difficult customers. What I enjoy the most is to meet different kind of people within the country and the ones from overseas. The most challenging aspects is difficult internal and external customers.

Pros: I would love to get a promotion when time goes.
Cons: I don't have a problem to work overtime as long as I can get my overtime income.

Good exposure to medical devices

Get to my work station. Work there for most of the day besides lunch and tea break. Sometimes products come in with defects where we will need to verify is its acceptable or not. Rarely see other people from other departments. Sit and focus on the job of the day.

Pros: Very open to the industry
Cons: Over time not gauranteed
