Meetings with management, placing safety officers to different areas, drafting of standards, risk assessments and implementing a proper safety system. to have proper communication with employees and co workers, taking leadership and implementing new ideas, to create a positive approached to safety in the work place and safety systems

Excellent development

South deep is transparent company and I really enjoy working for it. Day to day work experience is very challenging and one need to work open minded and have strong leadership skills no matter what position you in as you are not only doing your day to day duties but developing oneself for future positions

Good development

Am a fast learner Enjoy working with others Always adhere to safety when working Most challenging aspects is having to go work in the unsupported areas where rigs are still supporting. I have learned a lot in working in the trackless machinery, how to read hydraulic schematic and doing fault finding on machinery.

Commitment

My daily job as a hydraulic fitter is to ensure that I do housekeeping before doing anything job,do daily maintenance and breakdowns machines (utility vehicles,dumb truck and LHDs) Working together as a team is very important, as most of the jobs are major jobs that need a strong team work. Working on major breakdown as a woman is bit challenging, i've leaned to plan my job well,this makes my job easy and safe. What I enjoy the most is to maintain the machines, because proper maintenance reduces unnecessary breakdowns.acting as a hydraulic fitter has taught me responsibilities,commitment and discipline not forgetting to mention being a role team player.

Pros: Due to the mine'so current state, no opportunities or promotions available for now
Cons: Working with people who aren't committed
