Excellent experience

South African Police Service ( supply chain division) is a dynamic work environment. We deal with managing the organization assets. We compile weekly and monthly reports and also national reports. I work excellent with my colleagues and tasks given are team work projects. I have learned so much, I now know how to use the provisioning administration system and also know how to compile reports. I can also do inspections. I can monitor the South African Police Service asset e.g. firearms, bulletproof ,machines,it equipment. I enjoy doing inspections and compiling the national reports. Doing inspections its a challenge because you question co-workers and supervisors.

Pros: great opportunity
Cons: working with people that are not qualified

Good opportunity

My typical work day start with planning for then day with consultation of all members of the team, checking of all case dockets which need immediate attention such as those case dockets which need to be visited to conduct further investigations such as visiting of scene of crime to preserve clue, and evidence, obtaining of witnesses statement, and attending of all complaints which are been reported at the crime office. Prepare a comprehensive report about what the team has done for the day and submit it to the management for statistics Conduct a monthly awareness and training lecture for the team members about the policies and procedure of the company, and on how they can be effective and efficient I enjoy when the team work towards the planned goal and also when they manage their own career.

Pros: Being given an opportunity to lead one of the team of investigators in the crime office
Cons: When the target is not met even after having put long hours on the project.

Being able to lead a project where a radio communication system.

Had to program all portable and mobile radios with a program that had both 12,5 channels spacing and 25 channels spacing. Which was a success and worked as planned we were able to migrate from the old system to the new system smoothly without any problems and long communication interruptions.

Pros: Learned a lot being part of the team that planned, executed and maintained the simulcast system.
Cons: Sometimes will work till late but was always exciting to see the project succeeding no matter what.
