Excellent Company to work for
South African Express is a great company to work for. Employees know each other and the working environment is like a family The gap between senior managers and employees is very small. Reporting lines are also flat and you get to know anything you need. Very supportive employees and managers in all departments

Taking me out of my comfort zone
Time keeping, staff morale, discipline amongst staff, allocation of duties to staff, overseeing check-in and boarding passengers, preparation of loadsheets and printing passenger manifest, attending airport meetings, submitting of the monthly reports to management. I always encouraged my colleagues to always perform at the best of their ability and to give outstanding customers service all the time. I always enjoyed the challenges I was was faced with everyday is not the same and being under pressure forces me to think out of my box. The most challenges I faced was on time turnaround departures especially when the flights were delayed coming in because communication between ground staff to cabin crew aswell as cockpit crew and making sure the passenger are taken care of.

Working together with the Manufactures, Board of Directors and the technical committee
My experience for working for a State owned Airline gave me experience to know and understand the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA), working with EXCO and the Board of Directors. Being the interlink between the Manufactures and the organization. Managing the different teams of Engineers based on the trades (E.g. Engine Specialists, Aircraft Structures Technician, Interior Technicians, Ground Equipment and tooling Engineers, etc) has also being an exciting and yet challenging role in my career. Also managing the Healthy and Safety, Budgets, daily projects, revenue, workloads and manpower among other daily responsibilities has being great experience I’ve gained as well.

My technical mindset has been nurtured,It taught me to perform my duties with integrity
Working for a commercial airline is good because we working on real time and we have to ensure we keep the airc3on a scheduled time. I am lucky to be working with people who also love their work and the level of integrity it taught me to perform my duties it was amazing. I enjoyed dealing with snags and troubleshooting because it's where you really know how the system works.

Sa express is a good Company to work for. The culture at sa express is amazing, you get to meet wonderful colleagues who are so welcoming when you first join the sa express family.

On job training
Dealing with flight crew on a daily basis, mending their live roster. Arranging accommodation and transportation if they are working out of their base. Capturing sick notes, updating their details in the system. Distributing mail on their respective boxes. Replacing off sick crew on a current live roster. Keeping track of their flight in duty that they don't exceed it.

Learned alot and grown in the process
It learned how to work hard and in different situation. Now I can think on the spot and deal with situations at hand without delay. Got to work with different personalities and classes of people. Travelled and enjoyed it.

Ability to self-motivate
Work is shift based, three types of shifts Morning, Day & Evening Amicable working culture, everyone shares information Aviation operation, customer service, communication, management, supervising, financial management, safety management, employment equity, flight management, chairing meetings, submitting reports. Sharing information and training staff, I enjoy the most as I take time learning and studying the operation and it's challenges for others not to have challenges. Limited resources are the most challenging part of my job.
