SmartStart Reviews

Everyone is over worked

A daily day starts with a catch-up session with my assistant to go through what she had covered the previous day and her goals for the current day. Then I respond to emails which are never less than 30. I then book all accommodation and shuttles for trainers and plan the delivery of training material across South Africa. I also oversee all boardroom meetings and catering for all internal and external events. I am also responsible for training all new Franchisors on our ECD program packing structure. Every Wednesday I print attendance certificates for all the training sessions that week. I plan and follow up on details for the next training session as well as manage the visual management board. My other huge role is the stock control position, I am in charge of the stock room and the distribution of stock to all our Franchisor's as well as the outsourcing. I am also the office minute taker for all internal and external meetings.

Pros: Experience and making a different in my community
Cons: Too many hats, no incentives, and less pay

Challenging

Working with SmartStart has been one of the most challenging and great experiences I have ever had. It focuses on Early learning programs for children that are 3-4 years old using play as a tool for stimulation that helps set the foundation for the development of a child. We train people in South Africa to start up their own Early Learning programs set as business. People in that space are welcoming and challenge the facilitator to think out the box. We create a adult learning space to enable people to share their experiences on raising children.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn
Cons: Free lance facilitator
