Excellent learning curve

A typical work day for me would be: Dealing with customers, placing orders or enquireing for quotations. I then contact our suppliers to try and best meet the needs set out by the customer and offer them the best possible options for the best possible price. I am responsible for all costing and negotiating with customers and suppliers. I am also responsible for the full book keeping function of the business: Debtors and Creditors, Bank reconciliations, Quotations, Invoicing, Purchase orders, Vat and payroll. I have very good relationships will all my co-workers. At this company I have advanced my knowledge of Pastel Accounting and also improved my negotiating skills with suppliers regarding discounts, delivery times etc. I enjoy dealing with people and solving complex problems. It can be very satisfying. The most challenging part of my job can sometimes be coordinating the supplier to end user time frame in urgent situations.

Learning experience

A typical day at my current employer is handling all of the book keeping functions. Part of my job function is also sourcing goods from suppliers at the best possible prices for resale and then coordinating collection and delivery of good to customers. I have very good relationships with co-workers as well as suppliers and customers as I am constantly dealing with people to provide solutions. In this company, I have learnt the most about office management, as I have had the book keeping experience for several years, this was something relatively new to me and therefor I have improved my skillset with this new challenge. I enjoy working with people as well as solving issues that arise. I find that very satisfying. In the same respect the most challenging part of my job is also solving issues that arise. However every issue can be solved. It is just a matter of finding the best way to do it.

Cons: I no longer feel there is any more room for growth and challenge within the company
