I enjoy assiting others through excellent old fashioned above standard customer service

My current typical day at work is monitoring my clients work volumes and allocating the volumes accordingly to my team. I assist with a few escalation calls daily but most of my day resolves around reporting, monitoring production, assessing staff leave trends, attending complaince and operational meetings, and assisting and guiding my team with queries, career path advancement and coaching. I enjoy my team mates and take time to get to know them personally and build good relationships. I have gained additional skills in administration of Estate Late investments, and although I enjoy my current position and company, the most challenging part for me is the fact I am more "behind the scenes" customer service wise apposed to "hands on until it's resolved" wise. The travelling daily to and fro from Centurion and Sandton is also taking it's toll on my safety, and the time I get home daily. I am looking for a change in line and a position closer to home.

Pros: Doing something that both stimulates and ignites ones passions for what they do
Cons: Extreme hours and long travels morning and evening

My drivers and what I enjoy

My typical day consists of managing tiple I am not sure why this page is not showing what I wrote .... apologies teams and clients, silica is a high performance company and my focus every day is driving this performance in order to ensure that our clients expectations are exceeded. My challenges are managing the multiple projects which come about due to us driving the efficiencies in our teams and the organisation, digitisation is our strategy in order to bring down the administrative costs to our clients and investors. I enjoy being involved in a broad spectrum of duties , every day brings a new challenge and growing my teams and shifting those around me in terms of their thinking and personal growth is something I’m passionate about.

Pros: The position sounds like a vertical move for me
Cons: Pressure to get up to speed with employee benefits again, although I’m still in touch with the high level of the changes in the pension fund’s industry

Great culture

My time at Silica has been quite a learning curve,it has helped develop my knowledge of the industry we're in. The company culture is great,makes one want to get up and go to work because it's such a pleasure to work with Silicans.

Commitment , organized, work methodically

the amount of work was not appropriate with the salary, a very slow growth within the company . i left the company to seek for more experience and to futher more studies to accomplish my goals

Learning curve

I have worked well in the company and tried to push myself to grow and build my career. I worked my way up from being a query analyst in the operations teams and made my way up to projects as a project coordinator. I worked even harder and was earmarked to be a project manager and while I currently work as a project manager, my title and salary has not been adjusted at all. I have additional responsibilities with little pay.

Pros: Good corporate culture
Cons: Overworked and underpaid

Excellent service

I work in a very pressurized environment. I have a good relationship with my coworkers. I have always believed that having a good relationship with coworkers make everything to run smooth. I have beem in different departments, I have a lot from all departments I have worked in different roles. I have achieved a certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments. The hardest part of my job is dealing with coworkers who dont want to listen, however that has not pulled me back to do my job efficiently.

Cons: Overtime when required

Senior Lisp Administrator

I am a self starter I bring here my Competency and a positive attitude that drives me to work harder.I am a hard working person and I believe hard work pays if you believe in yourself and strive to archive in all that you do, getting it right the first time is my motor, I work very well independently and love working as a team. I strive to archive in all that I do and put heart to it I am willing to learn given the opportunity to do with in the nature on the business I am self-driven, I take direction very well form both my peers and leader.

Pros: It gives one the Opportunity to learn more with in the company and to also show initiative in everything one does with in their teams.
Cons: One gets to be responsible and also pay attention to detail to ensure that the results are good and also have a sense of urgency

Room for growth

The culture at Silica is great, the people are great There is so much room for growth. To become successful you have to start from the lowest and learn as much as what you can. The challenging part is data can leak so quickly if you not vigiliant at all times and pay attention this is key. SLA is tight and our aim is to satisfy our clients with our turn around time with faster technology you have to bare in mind we moving into a much faster pace in the Asset management industry! Keep up with IT/ technology is key for successful and happy clients.

Great learning environment

I have found that Silica as a company offers a lot of opportunities for leaning. The company encourages learning new skills and exploring outside your comfort zone. Within my contract period I was not only responsible for my work but also encouraged to sit with others and learn what they did in my free time. I felt that environment not only gives you pride in what you do especially when you find yourself teaching someone else your job but it also encorages initiative and promotes getting to know your colleagues better.

Pros: Great opportunity for movement
Cons: Long working hours
