Sibanye Gold is a Mining Industry.

Went to fetch my co-workers at 2 O'clock in the morning and discussed the days work with them. Then started working and superviced my team inbetween. Excellent Relation with co-workers I've learnt to interact with people from al cultures and also to speak,read and write a ethnic language I have a passion for my work and enjoyed every part of my day. To satisfy management is most challenging

Sibanye Gold is a Mining Industry.

My day starts at 2 O'clock in the morning. Firstly I picked up my co-workers and discussed the days work with them. Then supervised my team inbetween my own work Excellent relationship with co-workers I've learnt so interact with other cultures and learnt to read,write and speak their language My passion for my work makes me enjoying it It is a challenge to satisfy management everyday

Sibanye Gold is a Mining Industry.

Started working at 2 O'Clock in morning. Fetched my co-workers and discussed the day's work. Started my normal work as scheduled in my duties and supervised my staff in between. I had a very good relationship with all of my co-workers and even learnt to speak their language. I enjoyed every part of my job as I really had a passion for my work and the most challenging was to satisfy management.

Sibanye Gold is a Mining Industry.

Started at 2'oclock in the morning...discussed day's work with my co-workers. Superviced them in between doing my own duties. I had a very good relationship with my co-workers and even learnt to speak their language. I've learnt to work with all different cultural groups and toe handle conflict very good. I enjoyed working for my company a lot and every day was a new challenge as every new day brought new problems and the biggest challenge was to satisfy management

Gold Mining

04:30 Meeting with my crew and mine overseer to plan the day ahead. I have a great crew, we work together to achieve our goals and bonus. I don't just delegate, I work just as hard with them and anyone who has worked with me will confirm that. We are a dedicated team, but safety comes first. I have learned if you respect your co workers you will earn their respect and to see the smiles on their faces when I help them to get their bonusses is a plus for me. I think what I enjoyed most is getting sentare. The most challenging aspects of the job was the monthly planning and the admin part of the job, the rest, mining is a part of who I am and everyday is a challenge, to be safe and to produce.

Pros: It is a big company, with shafts all over the country, not just gold but platinum also, so you have options and variety if you prefer. It has a good pension fund and medical aid.
Cons: The bonus structure for the Shift Bosses is not really good and a lack of that also.

Few companies that pays more than this

Most mining gold companies pays on this scale. Bonus depend on requirements everywhere. There other means to increase ones income. Old systems are used here.

Pros: none hear bt at impala great opportunities are there.
Cons: long overtime hours that are not paid.but at impala all overtime hours are paid.

Hard working and willing to learn

Good hard worker. Looking for new challenges in my career. No job is to big or to small to be done correctly. Work well alongside any person. Good team player.

Production verses maintenance

As Service/Branch Manager my duties were as follows : - Compiling of my budgets for all my Departments namely Field Service, P.D.I, Service Exchange Units, Component Rebuilds for Internal & External Customers, Major Rebuilds and Service Contracts and this was presenting to the Board of Directors for approval and scrutiny; - Ensuring that each division kept in the budget that was approved; - Identifying Customer needs and putting together an action plan; - Signing off on parts ordered, quotations for work to be done, monthly invoicing, monthly overtime and monthly expenses i.e. cell phones, accommodation, etc. Monthly Reporting - Monthly invoicing versus Budget and Actual; - Breakdown of the high costs incurred and if any corrective steps; - Major projects progress; - Rolling forecast of expected major projects; - Disciplinary actions and outcomes; - Union meeting feedback;

Pros: Opportunity for growth
Cons: Extremely long hours, every second week standby

I am hard working person, who goes extra mile to achieve company goals and personal goals.

most challenging moment in the mining industry is Wage negations which it brought huge uncertanity between unions, as the previos history was that it was one union dominance, now the land scape has changed and it forced management to review all internal agreements and to standardarise the application of policies and procedures. big challange is to built a solid relationsip with all stakeholders, as new revival union does not trust management in terms of past history, this has made management to change the culture of doing things to comply with changes. my experiance is that there is no comfort zone in the 20 century in terms of human resource, we need to learn and to become innovative in terms of changing world in hr.
