Dear Sir/Madam APPLICATION FOR A POST IN WORKSHOP TECHNICIAN I am interested in applying for field as workshop technician advertised on job placement website. I am an honest and reliable laboratory technician with N4 in Mechanical Engineering. I have had experience working at the mechanical environment for the past six years. My career started at SGS Metlab working as a Laboratory Technician. Working at SGS Metlab have showed me the importance of team work and individual work in encouraging efficient work but also enhancing the wellbeing of each individual. As I know this position is very competitive attracting highly motivated people but I am certain that my experience as the Laboratory Technician in the past six years grant a strong recommendation for a place in this position. I am a team player, can work as an individual, friendly, hardworker, optimist, ability to work under extreme pressure, good communication skills and I can also adapt in any type of environment.

Learning experience

I have learned very much about integrity - A promise you make is a promise you keep. We are a smallish testing laboratory and accuracy and correctness of test results is extremely important in our industry. If results was promised for a specific date the customer plans accordingly, a project can fall behind schedule if the test results are not available on time. A customer is happy with a failing result as long as he/she can trust that the work was done correctly. The precision and correctness of reporting is even more important to a customer, since a month or 2 down the line nobody can remember exactly what was tested if it is not correctly indicated on a report

An experienced Metallurgist currently in a metallurgical laboratory environment

I have experience in manufacturing environment where I used to assist the plant metallurgist as I was his trainee. It was a great experience with a great team that we worked with. I am currently in a laboratory environment as a Junior Metallurgist where we test and certify various metallurgical products and perform failure investigations.

Pros: Great opportunity to learn about various types of steel
Cons: Always avail yourself for cases where clients urgently want their results
