A great place to work that introduced me to the world of ICT and Broadcasting.

My current employment has introduced me to an intresting world of government relations and what it means to carry out a mandate. Moreso the complexities of finding my way and remaining innovative within procurement systems with little flexibility. I had genuinely belived that I can plan. Now I know how to work the plan i.e. to realise any goal, I need to plan my future procurement needs six months ahead. Not only that, the importance of building relations with all deparments - not only to deal with a crisis but to avert a crisis. My internal customers are central to what I do - to assist them to achieve thier objectives but also to achieve my own objectives.

Pros: Great learning opportunities in a learning and developing organisation.
Cons: Not much room for promotion prospects.

Interpersonal and corporate politics development

Development of Strategies, policies and execution plans for Communication, Brand, Stakeholder Engagement, B-BBEE rating improvement, Enterprise and Supplier Development, CSI. Budget management, performance management, Management development, sourcing of funding for projects. Decision making and and advisory to the C-suite Relationships: Good relations with some colleague and strained relations with some Lessons: How to deal with corporate politics and difficult interpersonal relationships. Not stress about things not in my control, just provide your input and advise and allow the decision maker to make their decision, if it not yours to make. Workplace relationships are important. To lead a multi-disciplinary department. Not to personalise things and take tough decisions. Enjoy: I enjoy watching my teammates grow into leaders in their own right, making decisions without much input from me. I enjoy successfully completing a project and achieving better that expected results.

Pros: Broadened my scope of work, Interpersonal skills growth, achievements are visible
Cons: Having to train professionals on the basics of their areas of specialisation, poor understanding of portfolio by leadership,

Learning curve

This is a challenging position that is in sync with my career ambitions. The skills and competencies that I have acquired from my formal education, background and practical working experience will enable me to add value to this position. My previous work responsibilities and duties are quite similar to those required in the advertisement of your organization; I strongly believe I can perform well all the delegated duties and tasks. I am a very hard-working individual and also a fast learner concerning the tasks I have to perform daily. I visualize myself as a systematic, co-operative person. If given a task, I would give it my undivided attention, no matter what the expectance level is. I take a tremendous amount of pride in my work and am a conscientious worker. I handle constructive criticism by taking responsibility for and learning from my mistake.

Pros: Learning new stuff
Cons: Long hours
