Sasol Base Chemicals Reviews

I hope to get invited to state the value i can add to the job and to everyone around me.

- the current environment is laboratory, extrusion machines and process plants. we specialized in customer complain and product development. - we have a team of about 35 people who are permanent based at this Polymer Technology Services Centre. - I maintain all the machines, safety affairs, Security, building and all electrical distributions. - the amount of work and working with my manager in the Engineering department is one of the challenges in this job. - I enjoy working with my colleagues as they show lots of professionalism and understanding at most of the times.

Pros: it is a great company to work for and lots of opportunities for scientist and Engineers. it has 31 000 employees world wide.
Cons: because its a big company some changes can drag for years because of reporting structures, personal development can be challenging due to cost savings erxecise at the current moment.

Great exposure of risk in a corporate environment dealing with both local and international clients

I was moved from Credit control to Risk as I was excelling in what I was doing. I must say it was challenging at first as the move required me to be able to take initiatives and decisions. I'm more of a figure oriented individual, but I find that dealing with different customers and marketers stimulating. We are a small team of 5 credit analyst and my Risk Manager has given me the opportunity to act in his absence which has given me that opportunity to manage people and do Risk reporting. What I have found challenging is when I have to address the Marketers forum about Risks and our customers. But this has given me that exposure of presenting to Senior Level Managers.

Pros: Great salary and benefits which include learning & study support
Cons: Company is scaling down

My past work experience

I am used to working a full shift per day, engaging with people of different characters, learning from them and building up my knowledge. I have learnt that people are not of the same characteristic, each one needs a special treatment that suits him/her. The most challenging part of the job is when you battle to figure out the solution to the problem. I always enjoy being around people.

Pros: Great opportunities for promotion
Cons: Working mon-mon
